These aren't really different parts of a fandom, but different adaptations:
Les Misérables (Dallas 2014) Shoujo Cosette Les Misérables - Victor Hugo
The Dallas 2014 staging uses a contemporary, dystopian setting instead of 19th century France, and Shoujo Cosette is an anime based on Les Misérables which changes the ending and introduces several original side characters.
The pros of having them as seperated fandoms are that people who want to request/offer these more unknown adaptations could actually get matched on them. And I can't really see any cons because people who only want to offer/receive fic/art based on the novel would still have that option.
