Fandoms Currently Accepted: 233

Fandoms Waiting: 123

Next State of the Tag Set Update: Thursday or Friday

Buffy & Angel

I had a request to combine these into one fandom, so I will be putting nominations for both under “Buffy The Vampire Slayer & Related Fandoms”.  If this is a major issue with this then I will separate them back out.

Hobbit/Lord of the Rings

There are a bunch of nominations both for book verse and for all media types.   I am still deciding how to accept these.

Marvel Comics

There are a bunch of nominations for Marvel 616, individual titles and I believe one for Marvel overall.  I’ll accept them individually with changes to character tags to prevent migration.  If you want them folded together then just drop a line.

Marvel Movies

I’m leaving Agents of Shields separated from Marvel Cinematic Universe.  I have two nominations for Captain America movies separate.  Would it be alright to throw those into MCU?

No Flying in the House - Betty Brock

Beatrice Cox – Google is not helping with this character.  Just a quick confirmation that they exist and this spelling is correct would be helpful.

Sherlock (TV)

Hamish Watson-Holmes – I can’t find them in any version of Sherlock Holmes.  Who is this?  Is it an OC?  If it is then would it be okay to change it to “Original Child of John & Sherlock”?

X-Men Movies

I have nominations for X-Men Movies, First Class and Days of Future Past.  For the moment I am accepting them as separate fandoms and just modifying the character tags so they don’t travel between.  Would it be alright if I combined them into multiple fandoms, maybe adding things like indicating past or present version of characters that like Charles and Erik.

Hamish Watson Holmes is an original character in the Sherlock (BBC) fandom. He is the son of Sherlock and John.

(Note: I am not the person who nominated.) Re: the Cap movies, I think folding them in is better unless you plan to break out Thor and Iron Man too, at which point the only movie in the MCU is 'Avengers'. So it probably makes more sense for the MCU to be 'Avengers' plus the three primary franchises and their accompanying short films.

Seconding combining the Cap movies into the MCU. There's so much crossover that it doesn't make sense to split them, especially since this is a multi-fandom exchange (I feel like it'd be different if this were a Marvel-only exchange).

re: X-Men: As someone who nominated all three, I have no objection to combining the fandoms if that makes it easier on you. :)

Personally, I'd prefer it if the Captain America movies were kept as nominated; separate from the MCU. For example, I'd feel comfortable offering to write Steve under the CA tag, but not the MCU one since the requester might want something set during Avengers (which I wouldn't be able to write).

I didn't nominate either Buffy or Angel, but I will likely be offering and/or requesting it/them. I think combining the two fandoms makes a lot of sense given that they exist in the same universe with multiple crossover characters and episodes, and should not cause any significant problems.

I hope this is the right place for general notes about the tagset?

There is a typo in one of the Penny Dreadful tags: it reads "Dorian Gray (Penny Deadful)" and should read "Dorian Gray (Penny Dreadful)"

This is just my opinion.

For Marvel comics I would probably have most things under the general "Marvel 616" category. The exception I think should be for the X-titles which should all go under "X-Men (Comics)". The reasons for this is because while it's the same universe the X-Men are often off doing their own thing. Even the major crossover events are rare to include them (and when they are included it feels forced). The X-characters who do appear in other titles (Deadpool, Rogue, Wolverine, Sunfire, Cannonball, Sunspot and anyone I've forgotten) can be nominated under both.

For the MCU. I don't mind AoS being separate but I don't think the movies should be broken up. If the MCU is broken up it should probably go "Avengers Movies", "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Agents of SHIELD" because those are your three big groups and someone might be into one section and not the other.

The main reason why I don't want either comics or the MCU broken down into smaller titles is because we're only given a limited number of requests and offers. I don't want to use them all up on just comics and the MCU. If I have to request/offer Thor, Captain America and GotG that's three spots I have to use instead of one.
