Nominations are now open!

 

Some fandoms have specific guidelines.  Check them out here.  For fandoms that are split up I did not list every single possible subcategory for every one of those fandoms. 

 

You can nominate six fandoms with six characters each.

 

You may nominate generic original characters such as Original Male Elf, Original Sailor Senshi, Original Tag Wrangler, etc.  We will not be accepting specific original characters.

 

Do not use any fan nicknames when nominating characters.  Describe the character instead. 

 

We will not be accepting group or relationship nominations. If there is a character that is a special case in that they could sort of count as one individual or many then leave a comment to explain it to me.

 

The category of Original Works is allowed.  Crossover Fandoms is not.  All crossovers should be limited to your optional details.

 

If you participated in EveryWoman and want to know if canon helpers will be used in this exchange the answer is: no.  As long as Trick or Treat matches on just characters I won’t be using canon helpers here.

 

There are three rules for RPF:

1. For contemporary RPF the individuals must be over the age of 18.

2. Non-famous friends and family are not eligible

3. The person in question can be removed from the tagset at the request of the individual

 

I will be prioritizing fandoms that are easy for me to accept.  If you want to get your nominations accepted faster then here is how to help:

1.      Check the fandom guidelines to see if your fandom should be done a specific way.

2.       Disambiguate your characters.  It makes it less likely for me to make mistakes and is faster.  Disambiguating never hurts.

3.       Make sure you are spelling the character’s name correctly, especially if the character’s name is spelt differently in different canons. 

4.       Link me info!  If you want to link me to something like the fandom wiki page for each character then that is great!  TVtropes character list page?  That could work.  IMDB? Wikipedia?  If I don’t know a fandom I have to look it up and this will speed things up especially for small fandoms, Transformers, Tolkien, and comics.

Hi! I haven't ironed out all of my nominations yet, but a couple early ones I'm sending in are a little obscure: Aviary Attorney and The Sexy Brutale.

A couple small canons I'm nominating where info and links might be helpful:

Lumberjanes is a series of comics. None of the characters have canonical last names, so I'll keep the nominations in the Name (Lumberjanes) format. There's a list at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumberjanes#Campers that includes everyone I'm nominating (Jen is under Camp staff, just below the Campers list).

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a TV show -- all the characters I'm nominating are on the IMDB cast page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3339966/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast Note that the canonical tag for Kimmy's former boss Jacqueline is Jacqueline Voorhees on AO3. The character has divorced and changed her name to Jacqueline White in canon, which is now how she's referenced in IMDB.

Hi! I nominated Michelle Obama in US Politics RPF. The rest of my characters have been approved but she hasn't, so I thought I'd drop a line here about why I think she should be allowed and not fall into the "non-famous friends and family" category.

1) The Let's Move! campaign, which was a long-running political project spearheaded and run by Michelle herself (link)
2) Her political campaigning transcended her support of her husband on the campaign trail - not only did she campaign for Democrats during midterm elections, but she ended up being one of Hillary's most effective surrogates as well
3) Her moving speech at the 2016 DNC Convention, which was incredible
4) Aides have said that she, along with senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, was one of the two voices most strongly pushing President Obama forward on gay rights (link)
5) She was in the 2016 Trick or Treat tagset (link).

I can find more links if you want! If your decision is not to allow her, though, I understand and I can find an alternative nomination.

In Doctor Who (2005), one of the nominated characters is Missy | The Master. I think this could end up being difficult - the two Master regenerations in New Who are very different, and I think lots of people would only be comfortable requesting/offering one or the other. (Similar to nominating "The Doctor" as one character versus nominating as the five different New Who regenerations of The Doctor.) I for one wouldn't be able to offer/request Missy if she's combined with Simm's Master.

Would it be possible to split into Missy (DW 2005) and Simm!Master (DW 2005)?

Hi! I nominated the Netflix TV series "Fuller House", which is the sequel to Full House. I nominated Steve Hale and Matt Harmon, both characters on the IMDB page here. I nominated them both under "Fuller House" rather than "Full House" because, while the canon is continuous from one show to the next, Matt Harmon is only a character in "Fuller House". He doesn't appear in "Full House", so I didn't feel it was fair to nominate him under that show. So "Fuller House" it is! Hope that's all right!

I'm finding it really difficult to find an easy to use source for the character names for 16 Ways To Kill A Vampire At McDonald's (I ended up replaying the start of the game to check them) but I promise they're right.

Under my Kalevala noms, there's a couple of characters that might be confusing. I've nominated both "Louhi's Daughter" and "Louhi's Second Daughter". Neither of them have names, but they do have distinct roles in the Kalevala.

"Louhi's Daughter" is meant to refer to the daughter who appears first and most often, and eventually marries Ilmarinen . Some of her appearances can be found here, here, and here.

"Louhi's Second Daughter" is meant to refer to the daughter that Ilmarinen tries to marry after the first one dies, and only appears here.
