Nominations are open!
You can nominate four fandoms and four characters from each. This is a total of sixteen possible characters. Nominations will be open until Sunday 14, 10:00 UTC.
All traditional fandoms are eligible. RPF has a few special rules that you can read about in the faq. Fanworks as fandoms will be determined on a case by case basis.

Thanks!

Date: 2014-09-08 05:48 pm (UTC)If the fandom/character you're nominating already exists, you can pick it from the autocomplete; if not, you can just type it in. You don't have to do anything different for TV or movies or whatever--just put in the title and the tag is linked to the right medium. If the tag doesn't already exist, the wranglers will take care of it.
If you want to nominate a specific version of a canon where the title isn't specific enough, you can put something in the title to disambiguate it like "Ghost Soup (TV 1991)".
Hope that helps!

Date: 2014-09-10 12:07 am (UTC)I was planning to nominate a traditional ballad (The Demon Lover), which already has an AO3 tag. The stories already up have no character tags, and I'm not sure what to call the characters - some versions of the ballad give the ghost or the woman names, others don't, and realistically anyone offering it knows the story is about a woman and her late lover, so I would be inclined to leave the character list blank, but if that's a problem I can just call them Ghost (The Demon Lover - Traditional Ballad) and Woman (The Demon Lover - Traditional Ballad).
The other more serious problem is my perennial Yuletide request Liáo zhâi zhì yì | Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio - Pú Sônglíng. It's a collection of (very short) short stories, with no recurring characters, and I am always open to fanfic based on absolutely any of them, or a new story in the same style, so I'm really not sure what to do for character nominations. Generally for Yuletide Strange Tales is nominated (sometimes even by people who aren't me!) characterless, but if that's a problem here, I could nominate recurrent character types (poor scholar, monk, fox spirit, ghost). Are either of these options (no characters, general character types) OK with you? (If they're not, it's fine, I can always just pick one of the longer stories, with named characters, and nominate that, rather than the whole collection.)

Date: 2014-09-12 12:04 am (UTC)For The Demon Lover you should nominate it with the characters Ghost (The Demon Lover - Traditional Ballad) and Woman (The Demon Lover - Traditional Ballad). You can select any characters in this exchange.
For Liáo zhâi zhì yì | Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio - Pú Sônglíng please nominate something character wise. It can be character types or World Building (Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio).
